PROJECTS

Lardy – language fun for everyone

In 2005 Antonov and Partners cooperated with Ukrainian designer Lolita Kasperovych in the launching of a project entitled Lardy. The name of the game stands for the English-Ukrainian acronym of linguistic cards.

The game consist of a total of 500 cards with images denoting 500 different words divided in ten topics, specifically: The Human Body, Home & Family, Cloths & Personal Items, Meals, School & Leisure, The Animal Kingdom, Fruits & Vegetables, Science & Engineering, The World & Society, and The Earth, Nature and the Universe.

Each image is accompanied by its verbal counterpart in Ukrainian and Russian directly below it. On the reverse side this same word appears in English, German, French and Spanish.

The game has been designed to help foreign language learners regardless of their age (basically, from 5 years and up), and in fact may be enjoyed in different settings such as family, school, leisure centers, etc.

The game is supplied with a booklet embracing the itemized list of all the words in all six languages, the rules for 4 different playing methods, and a CD with all the worlds pronounced in English, German, French and Spanish in 3 mpg format.

The game is available for sale immediately from our office in Kyiv.
